Ichiro Matsumoto

  Dr. Ichiro Matsumoto is full professor of Science Education at Shimane University, Graduate School of Education. He has a MSc in Faculty of Science from Shimane University and a PhD in Geology from Kanazawa University. He worked at the Dowa Engineering consulting company in Tokyo for 10 years.

    His research activity mainly divided into following two focuses. One is geology and geochemistry of igneous rocks focused on magma genesis, mantle rocks, mineral resources and the other is science education focused on earth and space education, environmental education, education for disaster prevention. He was Head of the Professional School for Teacher Education and Vice Dean of Faculty of Education since 2018. He received two awards from the Geological Society of Japan and the Society of Resource Geology. He teaches mainly Science Education in Shimane University. He is author of ca. 66 scientific and Educational publications and Text books, contains 9 published on scientific international journals.
